What are Topical Services?

Topical services are a form of publication that provides a variety of types of legal information on a topic in a timely manner.  All topical services have some kind of current awareness component.  Some also contain extensive reference materials which can include primary materials such as cases, statutes, and regulations.

The current awareness features of a topical service can very helpful in finding a paper topic.  The reference materials in a topical service can help you in your research of primary sources.

BC Law Library subscribes to many health law topical services which are accessed through the two major legal publishers of topical services, Commerce Clearing House (CCH) and Bloomberg BNA.  Browse these services or sign up for e-mail alerts on subjects of most interest to you.
