About the Teaching & Research Department

The seven members of the Teaching & Research (T&R) department provide reference and research assistance to all members of the Boston College Law School community. They are also responsible for legal research instruction. T&R offers Advanced Legal Research and 9 other specialized research courses that are available as experiential electives in your 2L & 3L years. All T&R librarians have a JD and an MS in Library & Information Science.

  • Consult on legal and non-legal research 
  • Recommend search strategy
  • Identify starting points for legal research
  • Provide training on research databases
  • Advise on identifying and researching paper topics
  • Assist with law review citation checks and source collection

Service Hours & How to Reach Us
