The Administrative and Technology Resources Department (ATR)

The Administrative and Technology Resources (ATR) department is the primary point of contact for the technical and computing needs of all members of the Boston College Law School Community.

Services Provided

ATR offers assistance with the following:

  • Network registration and BC Gmail setup for laptops and mobile devices
  • Installation and troubleshooting of ExamSoft’s Examplify software
  • Assistance with University-supported software installations and software troubleshooting
  • Basic computer hardware troubleshooting
  • Printing from BC Law printers
  • Malware prevention, protection, and removal
  • Basic Microsoft Office and Google Apps questions
  • Connecting to servers associated with clinics

ATR is not able to provide hardware repair services. Information Technology Services (ITS) contracts with Micros Northeast to provide Boston College faculty, staff, and students with an on-campus Hardware Repair Center for personal laptops and desktop computers. BC Law students may use the Boston College Hardware Repair Center located in the O’Neill Library on the Chestnut Hill Campus. For information about their pricing, visit their website.

Walk-In and Email

ATR provides technology support services on a walk-in basis to currently enrolled BC Law students in the Student Computing Help Center (Room 205, Law Library) during posted hoursStudents who do not require in-person support are encouraged to send their queries to atrinbox@bc.edu.


Off-Hours Technology Support

Boston College Information Technology Services (ITS) provides off-hours assistance to all BC students. Up-to-date hours and contact information can be found on the  ITS support page. Please note that services specific to the Law School (e.g., Law School servers, printers, and databases, including Lexis, Westlaw, and Bloomberg) are administered only by members of the ATR and Law Library staff. ITS staff likely will not have access to or familiarity with these services.
